Rank Your E-book Chapters with ebrary from ProQuest

Truthfully, even the best designed searches on important topics will often be hard to narrow.  Ebrary, ProQuest’s vast e-book resource, can help with that challenge. Whenever ebrary runs keyword searches, it provides an optional “Chapter Results” ranking of the 15 chapters from any search with the highest hit counts. This helps any researcher get to the best content as quickly as possible!

ebrary chapter ranking

ebrary does much more than that. Join the ProQuest Training and Consulting Team to learn more about what ebrary can provide to your library. You can reach us at training@proquest.com to arrange a free online meeting, or join one of our free publicly scheduled meetings by going to our monthly training calendar.

Come and join us — we’ll see you in class!

K12 Team 3There’s always something new! Since last fall, multiple new functions, features, and content have been added to ProQuest resources such as SIRS Issues Researcher, SIRS Discoverer, eLibrary, and CultureGrams. And, ProQuest has also introduced an all-new resource called ProQuest Research Companion providing instruction on information literacy and the research process.

So, how can you keep up with the important changes in all of these key learning resources?

“Evidence Of” vs. “Consistent With”

PQRCevidence

What does this mean? In research, finding evidence can sometimes be tricky. There are potentially many facts that could be associated to a claim but which may not qualify as evidence that the claim is valid. Learning to better identify evidence of claims can go a long way in creating a successful research experience.

One way to improve research skills is to use the all-new ProQuest Research Companion. ProQuest Research Companion is a resource dedicated to teaching information literacy, writing, and research skills for libraries, classrooms, and online learning environments.  You can learn all about how to recognize viable evidence just by participating in ProQuest Research Companion’s self-guided, self-paced learning environment.

Talk to a member of the ProQuest Training and Consulting Team to learn more, or attend one of our free public webinars.  We’re happy to answer your questions, and we’ll also provide you an attendance certificate, upon request.
